I am starting this blog in connection with my Digital Art History class blog. This personal blog of mine will kind of take place of a research paper that would normally be the big project for the semester. See, instead of a research paper, we have the option to start a blog that creates a learning environment for the course or a piece of digital art work. Obviously, I chose to do a personal blog.
I am excited about doing this in lieu of a research paper. Papers are not my favorite thing.
I am new to WordPress and am looking forward to working with “blogging software.” The only experience I have had in the past would be MySpace and maybe LiveJournal a couple years ago. I do spend a lot of time on-line keeping in touch with friends and family all over the United States. This will be another excuse for me to be on here.
Most of this blog will pertain to Digital Art History 4420 with Susan Ryan at Louisiana State University. We are assigned readings out of Christiane Paul’s Digital Art, and The New Media Reader, edited by Noah Wardrip-Fruin and Nick Montfort (as well as occasional other articles pulled off the Internet). I will be blogging about my thoughts about the readings, how it pertains to my life, or things it may remind me of, etc. I am not sure where this blog will end up, as it is kind of an experiment at this point.
I am hoping I will be able to keep up with this as well as all the other work in the class and my other classes. I have to…I’m being graded. heh…
So, that’s about all for now. I need to finish my reading assignment before class on Tuesday.
